A garage or carport close to the switchboard is usually the simplest run; a driveway further from the house means more cable, and sometimes conduit work to keep it protected and tidy. A 7kW charger suits most homes on single-phase power and will fully charge most EVs overnight. A 22kW charger needs three-phase power and suits businesses, or homes that already have three-phase, where faster charging genuinely matters.
